We have a formidable record of developing young footballers in our Academy, many of whom have gone on to enjoy long professional football careers at the elite level of the game.
Mission Statement
At Weston Next Gen Academy, our goal is to develop players who are ready to step into the Balestier Khalsa Centre of Excellence environment at the U13 level.
Rather than focusing on team development, we prioritize the growth of individuals within a team setting. Our training emphasizes key technical skills such as ball control, receiving with both feet, and mastering 1v1 situations, while also encouraging players to problem-solve on the pitch.
We strive to create an environment where players feel confident taking on the ball in high-pressure situations, particularly on matchdays, without the fear of making mistakes. Our coaches foster bravery on the ball and continuously challenge players to enhance their technical abilities.
Creativity and freedom of expression with the ball are core values in our training approach. Through this, we aim to prepare players to seamlessly transition into the possession-based style of play at the Balestier Khalsa Centre of Excellence.
The Purpose
To progress to the Balestier Khalsa Centre of Excellence (CoE), Weston Next Gen players must consistently demonstrate a strong technical foundation that enables them to confidently and freely play a possession-based style of football.
The development of youth players involves mastering football's core technical, tactical, physical, and mental components. During the foundation phase, a significant focus of training and coaching should be dedicated to honing technical skills and mastering ball control. In parallel, physical development—particularly in agility, balance, coordination, and speed—will be crucial to creating a solid base for players. This foundation will ultimately support the development of their tactical understanding as they progress through more advanced stages of training.

execute a variety of strategies and systems effectively in competitive football.
